Programmer 專用最佳字型 - Monaco font

昨天看到 Monaco Font 這篇文章, 然後看了附圖後, 覺得這字型真棒(看到此字型前, 我都是使用 DejaVu Sans Mono), 然後當然就找來試試囉~

剛開始不太習慣, 字的間距比較大, 但看久感覺很舒服, 值得推薦~ :)

然後在找的時後, 順便有找到一篇文章: Monospace/Fixed Width Programmer's Fonts , 裡面有寫到 Programmer 使用的字型該有哪些注意特點, 然後在下面也列不少推薦的字型.

轉載 Programming 字型標準這段:

Good Programming Font Criteria:

Crisp clear characters.

Extended characterset.

Good use of whitespace.

'l', '1' and 'i' are easily distinguished

'0', 'o' and 'O' are easily distinguished

forward quotes from back quotes are easily distinguished -prefer mirrored appearance

Clear punctuation characters, especially braces, parenthesis and brackets

我最後是在此處下載: Return of Monaco.ttf , 或自行找 MONACO.ttf 應該就找的到了.

然後安裝在 Ubuntu / Debian 的步驟如下:

cp monaco.ttf /usr/share/fonts/truetype/
fc-cache -f -v

這樣子就可以去修改字型找到 MONACO 囉~ :)

PS: 想挑字型太累, 可以: apt-get install gnome-specimen , 用 gnome-specimen 來挑喜歡的字型來用比較快唷~

Debian 也新推出一個 Terminal 專用字型(apt-get install ttf-inconsolata): ttf-inconsolata: an open font for your terminal and for nice code printouts

感謝哇哇提供的資訊, 用 Consolas 也很棒~(想直接抓 Consolas 字型, 可以找 Consolas.TTF).

Windows 可以直接抓 Font Pack, 如下連結:

3. colorscheme evening " 這個比較無關, 只是顏色設定

alan 推薦 terminus 字型, 有點像以前的倚天字型, 安裝法很簡單.
